[Closed] Anyone replaced their Pike dust seals?

I've dropped the lowers on my Pikes to give them a clean and oil change and decided to remove the dust seals to clean around the foam ring seat.

When I came to refit the dust seals I found there doesn't appear to be anything to position the dust seals and a little too much force pushes then all the way down squashing the foam rings.

Is that correct, have I missed something / trick?

What is the best method for seating them correctly?

The Pike manual merely states what you have already noticed:

"Only press the dust wiper seal into the lower leg until it is flush
with the top surface of the lower leg. Pressing the dust wiper seal
past the top surface of the lower leg can damage the foam rings."

had the same issue while doing mine. I had ordered some new seals from TF tuning. the new seals do have lip to stop you pushing them too far down. but I couldn't get them into the lowers at all. they were a really tight fit and I could only get half the seal in. so gave up and cleaned and reinstalled the old ones. but I did push mine in a tad too far and out now just past flush. lol

There is a rockshox installation tool which in theory should set them at the correct level. So I suppose that's the best method.

What do you use to get them out? They're as tight as Jeremy Corbyn's clothes budget.

I use one of these to get them out

It has a nice rounded end to doesn't score anything, remove the springs from the seals first.

Amazon in the end, not on prime from a 3rd party seller, and it's going to take a while to arrive.

Yep, gave up and used standard RS ones which work first time. I phoned TF to complain and was simply told they do fit but are a b*gger to get the lowers back in. I tried for an hour and gave up.....pretty useless TBH.
