PF92 of course. The race face BB is goosed. Not unexpected. Lol

My question is when I reinstall the cups on this carbon frame are they either:

1 greased before assembly

Or

2 epoxyed in

Or

3 loctited in?

Or

lastly 4, carbon assembly paste used.

Thanks for info guys.

My Jeffsy is my first plastic frame, also I see from some googling that different manufacturers use different methods.

Thanks again for the help, as always!

Yeah,I see your point.

Also using epoxy startled me a bit. Apparently Specialized use that method!

Won't be touching a thing till I know exactly what to use and what NOT to. 🙂

The inside of the BB shell is alloy. I installed a praxis BB with their expanding collet system using copperslip/ anti seize 18 months ago. That's as per recommended. No issues so far.

Ahhh.... So the contact area outs is actually alloy, not carbon?

YT said directly that copper-ease is the way to go then mate?

Thanks SO much for the info.

Well, just gently drifted out the old RF bottom bracket easily enough.
The shell is carbon though, not alloy. So..... cleaned grease off it etc with mild soapy water (suggested on youtube to use alcohol/ Isopropyl, didnt like the sound of that) then cleaned with just fresh water.

Glad to see there is a drainage hole in the BB shell.

Anyway, now Ive found a carbon shell, not sure what to prep the cups with . Ive emailed YT but will obviously take a while for them to get back to me. Any ideas?

Oh right...

Guess it's just the Capra that has an alloy shell because of the ISCG tabs.

I would personally fit using a Teflon grease but there is conflicting advise online. Nothing wrong with fitting it dry either. It's unlikely to creak like a metal to metal fit does.

Ah yes, the ISCG. That would make sense. I didn't think of that either.

Hopefully YT will get back to me soonish. I'm still getting bits for the build so I'm not in a great hurry.

Just want to do it right. 🙂

You won't be disappointed. I bought my wife the alloy version of the Jeffsy before Christmas for silly money in the sale. It's every bit as much fun as my Capra that I've enjoyed for 2 1/2 years, just different strengths and weaknesses. I think she is going to get annoyed when I borrow her bike my than I use mine this year... Woops
