Post was sticking right at the last bit of extension and tried pretty much everything. 300psi FFS!

Anywho i read on pinkbike that people were removing the white plastic bit under the collar and that seemed to fix it. Anyone else done this? Fiery death or sunlit uplands?

Not removed it completely, however i had the same issue on mine, i removed it and sanded the inside down a bit to give a bit more clearance and its been fine ever since.

If it was working fine and is not any more, its usually an easy fix with a new bushing in my experience, its probably just got a bit worn allowing flex/play to make it stick.
Id replace rather than remove or sand it down, as then its not doing its job... YMMV

Isn't the upper split bushing the one that stops the brass pins?

As above, I had the same problem, and sanded it back a bit with wet and dry.

Have you changed the pins recently? I did and it seemed fine with zero movement side to side, but it binded on the last inch of return. Put a more used brass key in so there's a tiny bit of side to side play but it no longer binds.

When it gets a bit sticky, generally it all needs a clean and some clean grease. Doesn't take long to take the bottom mechanism off and give it a service. The short term bodge is normally some lighter oil under the topcap and a few cycles.

Yes. Well ive added them in to reduce from 210 to 190. But it was very hit and miss before that as well. Its not been great from the get go to be honest.

Was it 300psi with the post fully extended ?

A clean / re-lube usually fixes it.

Sounds like your post needs a strip and clean. Never had to do it with the brand x posts I had before, but the Oneup needs a bit more tlc.

A quick solution is just to unscrew the top cap that push the post down and then actuate it back up. Should pull the little white bush out.

Just have a clean and grease of the post / white plastic bush that sit under the collar. I wouldn’t remove the plastic bush personally.

The longer solution is to strip and rebuild the post - doesn’t take very long to dismantle and grease tbh.

There is a refresh kit for about £20 that gives you a new screw on collar (which has a proper bush in it that wears), new white upper bush and new white lower glide ring. Also gives you new brass pins.

Both my Oneup posts have had a refresh kit when they started to get really sticky.

The thing is they have such a low stack not many other posts come close to fitting in such a big drop in the space - so I’m happy to maintain them from time to time.

Relax, they're fine and relatively low maintenance.

Good info, ta.

Mine wore out after a year and so did the top cap bush and the thread. We’ll worth replacing and it goes back to brand new. I now run an ugly inner tube flap to stop all the grit getting in

Yep, do it once or twice a year on my V1 oneup dropper. Lift the shim out, give it a clean, give it a good coating of sram butter, put it back in. Check the air pressure and that's it sorted.
