My bro bought me a Lidl wireless computer some years back which seemed to work well, even had a backlight at night, but it has finally succumbed to death by moisture.
I quite like the wireless option but it's not essential, just looking for a good, reliable inexpensive basic model that can take some weather. Whachoo got out theh?
One problem with wireless is that LED front lights of reasonable power can block the signal. I have a Catseye one with cadence & speed and it's useless when I have the (Euro-rated) light on. Now use the mobile for ride-logging.
Shameless plug. Cheap top spec Specialized one : http://singletrackmag.com/forum/topic/thomson-dropper-remote-new-sealskins-gloves
Got a cateye strada wireless you can have for a pint at brewers, Morgan or nags?

The B'Twin ones from Decathlon are pretty good, I have the linked 8 function one but for £4 cheaper there is a 4 function one. Good mount too, it'll fit on either stem or bars.
