anyone had a puncture on a fatty, was wondering do you carry a spare tube?

yes and of course yes - why on earth would you not puncture (bar pinch, which are probs more likely given you will be pushing it?)
got 7 puncures and 12 thorns on one small decent in the summer . took about 30mins to sort out. not a good ride
Does a schrader valve fit a Soda stream?
2 inch gaffer tape and half a bottle of stans fluid in each!
not so far with monster truck effort I've got on the front (does weigh a wee bit though) including bouncing it off some seriously pointy stuff at scary speeds and lots of spikey puncture prone trails as well.
Will be experimenting with a tubeless fat front in the next week or so, so will be taking a spare tube just in case*
* TBH I'm expecting a spectacular fail resulting in me looking like I've been a come sponge at an elephants sexy party 😕
Stans juice in 2.5 conti DH tubes solved the problem of Hawthorn punctures, also lighter tubes 🙂
I replace them yearly cause of the salt water as eventually the cores tear out as they rot,
Try and find a Nokian 2.4 DH tube to carry as a spare as there the smallest rolled up, about a 3rd size of a Surly tube,
Never pinch flatted in about 6000 miles now, and run 8 psi everywhere, rims are dented from rocks on the coast but keeps on rolling 🙂
Friend Jason had a Larry stabbed by a stick flipped up into the rear, repaired the tyre and it`s still going 🙂

Not had any yet...running 6 psi for quite a while now.
Also 1/2 bottle of sealant in each via schrader valve Conti DH 2.7" tubes.
I ride all my bikes with same bag, so 2.5" tube in there will be 'reet in a fatty to get me home if I do have a problem.
What's the point of tubeless fatties when you have to put so much fluid in?
Must weigh and have more rotating mass than just having a tube
a surly toob is nearly 500g a downhill one around the 290g mark, 3- 4 caps of spaff no where near as heavy 😀
Local motorbike shop must have a nice selection of suitable tubes surely?
yes,10 from one mahoosive hawthorn. chucked some Stans muck in after fixing the first two,it fixed the other 8. not gone down or lost pressure.
bought a couple of DH tubes as spares ,just in case tho..... 😆
I've jizzed my tubes up with a good healthy amount of stans but i also carry a spare and a patch kit.
Rear tyre's currently got several thorns in that I haven't had time to remove. All completely sealed off with the Stans goo. Spare Surly toob in the framebag. I hadn't thought about the DH tubes & bought a couple of spares with the bike. They're not light 🙁
I've just used a couple of Bontrager 2.2-2.8 tubes. I have a Specialized 2.5-3.0 as a spare.
Has anyone tried bag inflation for low pressure / large volume tyres?
Strikes me that you could at least get 5 psi in there with them, quicker and lighter than a pump!
The Alpacka inflater may be good as well:

If it doesn't work it'll still come in handy for camping mats.

I rekon the mahoosive footprint of the fatties must be prone to picking up more thorns than 'less attention seeking' more normal tyres

And also much betterer at picking up traction on the mega muddy climb that the "normal tyred" riders couldn't get up today.
Goes off to get all out of breath blowing up the inflatable duck while waiting for the inflatogismo to turn up. 😐
