If so who did you use and how much did it cost?
Royal mail are charging the earth to send anything nowadays so was wondering who was best to use now.
Cheers
Steve
i use and i think always will
parcelforce
im really happy with their service
they collect where and when i want
and at about £15 to send a frame i dont think is too bad?
Posted one yesterday - myhermes (via city link)
Need to see what it looks like when it arrives but it was well boxed and wrapped in bubble wrap and cardboard so hopefully be ok
Was £10.60 for the 5-10kg bracket. Could have gone for the one down but didn't want to chance it (not got proper scales but I knew bike weighed about 4kg - those old enduros are heavy!)
A few weeks ago, Royal Mail / ParcelForce - £15ish. Easy.
Parcel Force via the post office. £15 in round numbers
On a similar note, anyone posted a frame to France recently? Trying to get an idea of cost and reliable carriers.
Thanks.
Thanks for the replies.
TMB467 did my hermes collect from home??
ParcelForce, dropped off at the post office, about £15, all delivered fone.
There will be some changes on Monday 21 October

In brief they are an admission that the charges introduced in April were a big mistake:
£12.50 Parcel Force about a month ago. No problems.
Hopefully the bloke I have just bought a frame from has posted it today. He charged me £15 postage which seems about right

Yes - they did (well, from mrs tmb's place of work cos I was busy)
I use hermes, last frame I sent RM was about £20 wheras it`d be half that with MyHermes
MyHermes here also. Just under £9 fully tracked, collected and insured for £200. Arrived in a few days.
Used Parcelmonkey this week, £14ish with £300 insurance, next day delivery
Parcelforce, £16 to send a long, heavy, steel tandem frame, not bad at all.
Parcelforce from Isle of Wight to Strathpeffer (both 'remote regions', apparently).
£14 or thereabouts.
Parcelforce 48 service with discount code RT5, was just shy a tenner.
Sent a few frames with Parcelmonkey using City Link Next Day. Usually about a tenner. No problems 🙂
Myhermes are super cheap compared to RM for bigger stuff.
Can drop it off at a local drop of place where they just scan it no waiting in for collection.
I know the Royal mail/Parcelforce prices have been creeping up but I have always thought for £15 or so to deliver your frame the length of the country, and if your not in they leave it at the post office for you to collect is all a bit of a bargain.
It is always a bonus in my opinion when you buy something when it's sent Parcelforce purely for the pickup option at the post office.
