Just picked up that they've gone bust sadly. There's something in here about a digital key to be downloaded, (some kind of buit in security device isn't there?) I know they're a bit rare in the UK, but might be someone on here affected.

I was reading about that last week but couldn't find anything conclusive. The Van Moof website still appears to be trading and booking test rides.
Always liked the simple design of their non E-bikes
Blimey, their bikes are literally everywhere in Holland, and the electric commuters do look damn good in the flesh.
Ah digital key - that's why I saw one on charge outside a flat, with the cable poking through the letter box - no other security as such.
More details on the situation and a couple of ways to download your bike (or something) here

Dunno if that adds anything to the story...
Just reading on the BBC site that VanMoof...
...told customers that their e-bikes will not stop working, adding that the firm aimed to keep its app and servers online and secure "ongoing services for the future".
Then goes on to say
It advised owners to download their e-bike's unique digital key, in case online servers go down.
So basically the bikes will continue to work until they don't so anyone with one really should sort out the digital key quickly. I have been very tempted to buy one of these in the past but could never justify the cost. KInda relieved I didn't now!
