Thinking of Loch Ordie etc etc tomorrow, wondered if there is much snow.... and unrelated, wild boar fillet for dinner tonight... yum.
Was also thinking of going up that way tomorrow, was up there on Thursday on me motorbike and seemed fine, but came in via the Coupar Angus rd not the Blair Rd.
Did you notice the snow level on the hills?
There didn't seem to be much if any on the way up, however, when turning down the Sma Glen there was tonnes
Rick - we were up at Pitlochry last week. I doubt much will have melted since last week, don't know if there's been any more snow. We had a dusting here (W Lothian) last night but that's mostly gone again today.
Anyway we went up Craigower and did some glen-level stuff between Pitlochry and Blair Atholl. There was some snow above about 350m, pretty hard to ride in as it was a mix of water ice and crystalline slush and a few inches deep in out the open.
Hope that helps a bit.
Although most of the hillsides are snow free, the LR tracks are still holding snow/ice down to a bit below 400m depending on whether they are exposed to the sun or not. That's the latest from our evening ride round Aberfeldy on Thursday
Yes was up there today. It's fine, though I didn't go any further than Loch Ordie.
Thanks folks, sounds like worth a punt. Its not far from Musselburgh and there is always a stovie and a pint at the Taybank....
