Ordered the above light from Winstanleys a fortnight ago, with a delivery date of today. Rang Tuesday to confirm it would be in today and received positive response, then got e-mails saying it had been put back to firstly the 5th and now the 12th October. Anyone else had the same problem, not too bothered but slightly concerned whether there is a fault with the product rather than any logistical problem.
Yes I've ordered one from Evans, it said in stock on their website so I'm assuming it should be with me any day now.
I looked at Evans and it said 'In Store', which going off their info means it is in one of their stores and then it will be sent back to their warehouse with a 10-14 day lead time. That put me off but may be bloody quicker than the route I've gone down!
Mine was ordered on Monday, at the time it said in stock, and free delivery is 3 - 5 working days so it should be with me tomorrow/Monday at the latest (I hope!!).
Where did you order yours from Dyls?
Evanscycles. When I ordered on Monday it said it was in stock, confirmed this on the email I received at time of purchase. So I'm expecting it tomorrow/Monday. I've just checked now and the website now says at store.
Mine still hasnt arrived from evanscycles - ordered on Monday and said it was in stock at the time. I sent them an email yesterday to ask where it is (theyve taken the money) but not replied yet.
a fault with the product? i cant see how you jump to that concusion. These things will be shipping in from China or wherever and getting exact dates for that sort of thing is difficult (just ask Brant or CyCotic on here). Far more likely Evans/CRC etc. just put there best estimate of delivery on the site and delays in shipping have put it back.
I've had my Diablo Mk2 for almost a week now (thanks to Evans Cycles fast shipping with UPS), and I still couldn't do a proper ride with it (lack of time...). But I played with it a little around the city parks and its awesome. I ride with a Lupine Wilma/P4 on the bars and this thing is brighter. Even on the middle setting it's bright enough, and the beam pattern seems to be perfect for helmet mounting. Can't wait to try it out in the woods... hopefully tonight 😉
What is the beam like Rad?
Is it floody or a spot?
Cool white or yellowy?
Good punch?
Cheers
I ordered a new Mk3 Maxx D and a Mk 2 Diablo, the Maxx D turned up and so did some diablo's, not my one though but it should be there in a couple of days, so I think the problem with them is keeping up with demand.
The new diablo though with the 3 xpg's is seriously bright, still see circles when I blink
I bought and used the Diablo MK2 from Phils Bike Shop at this years D2D.
I could not be happier with it, compared to the hope two I used on the bars it has a broader and much brighter beam. It also lasted full laps on full power which ended up over 2 hours.
I think there going to become popular.
not Diablo, but Joystick 5 turned up beginning of this week after being on order for a fortnight.
don't personally see the point in the Diablo over the new Joystick - they both have the same output for a 2 hr plus ride, Diablo only runs for 1hr 10 mins on full power.... and weighs a chunk more.
Well, the Diablo is much brighter than a Joystick on full whack. So that is the point. And a different beam pattern.
Joystick is [was] a spot so quite different.Might be closer with this years versions.
Coupled with a Piggyback and one is good to go.
I'd rather have the option of throwing some more light on the subject...than not.
Easier to hold for torch duties too.
I wouldn't want to go back to a Joystick other than for on the bonce.
Diablo = much more versatile.
Not sure if they are capable of 2hrs solid on full beam as someone indicated !! I'm not too far off that WITH a Piggyback...
I got my Diablo Mk2 today, been on order for 7 days from Primera Sports in Bournemouth, best price at the time, £180 posted.
Happy to wait for a quality light.
I use the MaxxD Mk3 on the bars and the Diablo as a helmet light.
Looking forward to my first night ride with the Diablo.
weight 98g v 110g
My last lap of D2D was unashamedly 2h15m and the light was on full power maybe brightness dropped but I didnt notice.
I ve also used it on a couple of night rides since mostly on the lower setting same as joystick and found that quite adequate as a helemt light.
I think its worth the extra few quid for that extra power setting though even if you need another battery to really make the most of it.
fair enough. I deliberated between them both and as I use it as a helmet light on the mtb (with a Hope 4 on the bars) and a bar light on the road, with my usual ride duration being 2-3 hrs I reckoned the new 300 lumens Joystick was best for my own circumstances. First outing last night and very impressed with it - a lot brighter than it's predecessor and a better beam pattern 😛

at the moment the site seems to be down, let's hope they will fix it soon.
Hmm - my Fenix TK11 lasts ages even in full 285 lumens and was under £50. It's not some cheaply made job - the quality is amazing. Makes the Joystick look rather pricey.
With the new Luminous 601 I have, I genuinely don't need a helmet light. Brought the torch (and lockblock) just in case last night (16 miles, 95% very very off road!) and simply didn't need it.
The Joystick is definitely overpriced, but I'm really happy with the Diablo.
For example, last night my regular back light went off, so I had to turn on the "Red Eye Micro" plugged in the Diablo ( http://www.exposurelights.com/product/000028/redeye-micro/ ).
It is seriously bright for such a small solution, and definitely sufficient for city commuting and in the forest (should anyone try to bump into you... also turns nightlife away (eg. bats...)).
This is the kind of detail that you simply won't find in a China-made flashlight. I think the Diablo is well worth it's price.

don't see your logic there. The Joystick is smaller, lighter, has the same red eye setup, is £35 cheaper and has the same output for a 3 hr ride. I considered both and went for the Joystick as a helmet light on the basis that unless I was curtailing my night rides to sub 1hr 10 mins they would both be equally bright.
The Joystick has a different (tighter) beam pattern than the Diablo, also, on medium the Diablo is still brighter. The weight difference is really minimal. And, should you ever need it, the full mode is there with its ~900 lumens.
So in my book, if you have 160 for a Joystick you'll have 200 for the Diablo, which is much better IMHO. This is my logic 😉
don't agree re the output - this from Exposure website
, however, each to their own 😆1hrs 10min (900 Lumens) burn time can be extended with Piggyback battery or run on High for same output as Mk.5 Joystick.
