Just a quick question...how do you find cheap Shimano stuff compared to cheap SRAM stuff?
I ask because we're had Giant Boulders at the centre I work at for years and they were equipped with SHimano stuff, alivio etc and it all seemed to last really well.
This year we've got Specialized Rockhoppers and they've got SRAM X4 stuff...I'm changing a rear mech every month at the mo, they just seem to bend like they are made of cheese.
Anyone else had problems like this?
Sounds about right (from a mechanics point of view anyway). Low end 8sp Shimano stuff always works surprisingly well with few issues, but low end SRAM stuff is bloody awful. Cheap plastic crap.
Not running a fleet, but work as a mechanic so see a lot of both. Low end Sram stuff definitely feels more shoddy than Shimamo.
