Does seem very strange...there is no promotion other than the actual word itself, so unsure what the issue is.
Plenty pics of road rides, wonder if the mountain bike as well...
No but I'm in the Lumpy Lycra Road Club
Yes, the membership carries 15% discount at Halfords which is useful
Billy Connolly would be proud.

Well looking at the photo on the article, their kit has a 'Television X' logo across it, obviously I had to Google it, but it turns out that's an adult channel, so are BC within their rights if they're actually advertising porn on their jerseys, rather than obliquely acknowledging the industry the club members work in in the club's name?
Ah, I don't know...I read the story a few days ago when it broke and it was about being called Porn Peddlers Cycle Club...more details now out and more detail...I'll go read more now.
I have a friend who was in the club and wore the jersey.
It's a bit like tobacco advertising I guess - the product isn't illegal, but how much publicity should you give it?
Didn't XHamster (I'm told that this is a dubious gentleman's online site) have an international race team, recognised by the UCI?
The logo's make me question if it's just about cycling, and not really more of a of a promotional tool...
If it's actually about supporting their employees in cycling, why not just change the kit and come up with a name that doesn't include the word 'porn'? If that's all the governing body are objecting to...
Television X have several channels on Sky TV. Seems British Cycling are happy to take money from purveyors of porn...
Fair point Craigw.
But where should a national body draw the line on drawing a sport "into disrepute"?
Using a club/team for promotional purposes isn't new, and businesses do of course have a range of ethical and social issues to consider when placing their logos or promotional materials in the public domain. I guess it comes down to what they are promoting, and how likely it is that a given audience will complain...
So keeping that in mind, it's probably reasonable for BC to conclude that not everyone would be OK with overt porn advertising at cycling events... Isn't it?
I’m a founder member of the Perchy Panther Comedy Club.
There’s just me if I’m honest.
"We appreciate that porn isn't for everybody so we don't shove it in people's faces
Doesn't sound the kind of porn I've heard about...
The shorts look "interesting"

Really? Have you watched any of it? No, me neither, but a friend says it’s tame as ****!
The club raises about £10,000 annually for HIV charity Terrence Higgins Trust.
Disrepute indeed 🙄
