If so, do you have a gpx for it?
Cheers.
Yes, but I have but no GPX...
Route I generally took would be out through Endcliffe Park, Stanage, down Bamford Clough, on road to Hope, up roman road to Hope Cross, down to Edale, up Jacobs Ladder, into Hayfield, on to New Mills along a flat wide bridleway, through New Mills on the A6 and then drop onto the Middlewood Way all the way to Macc. Used to take me about 4-6 hours
Cheers @mlbaker. Appreciate that - I'll ride that route. 😀
through New Mills on the A6
I'd maybe pick up the canal tow-path rather than going anywhere near the A6 which is fairly unpleasant ime.
If you're looking to make it easy, I'd go Sett Valley Trail from Hayfield to Disley. Through Lyme Park, then on to Middlewood Way there. Fewer roads.
Lots of variations. When I did it, I went
Stanage Edge,
Bamford Edge (you could miss this out)
Fire road to Hope Cross (you could miss this out)
Down the Roman Road,
Road to Castleton
Up Broken Road
Over Rushup Edge
Roych Clough
Hayfield
Then as above.
Some of the route is on here, but mixed in with other stuff.

Yeah; canal from New Mills to Marple, ten t'other canal from Marple to Macclesfield. Bit longer than the Middlewood way but much more scenic
Some alternatives here (starting with Derwent Edge):

In previous years, we've started with Cut Gate, then finished the same.
, I'd go Sett Valley Trail from Hayfield to Disley
Doesn't the SVT stop in New Mills? Hence the suggestion to pick up the canal to Marple. You could head over the top to Lyme Park mostly off road as well.
Well, the wide flat part of it does, but then it turns into the path along the river (after the millennium walkway). Mousley Bottom I think it's called.
Then there's a quiet road up through Disley to the main junction where you can go into the gate by the Lyme ticket cabin.
(it's on that top strava link).
But there are so many options.
Proper offroad could go from hayfield (or mt famine), over Cracken edge, into Whaley, then up through Goyt valley, down to Cumberland Clough, then down through macc forest.
