Got an Endura BaaBaa merino base layer that I managed to snag on a tree.
Anyone managed to repair similar? Thinking about an iron on patch on top and on the inside of the fabric.
Any other ideas?
Seems a shame to just buy a new one.
If it were a top layer I’d try a posher “invisible repair” stitch up, but for a base layer just a few darning stitches to save it getting worse. Have a look at darning on YouTube, plenty of good demos. Or stitch on a patch from your favourite rock and roll band.
Alteration tailor or seamstress.
How big is the hole?
Mine have loads
As others have said, could darn it, or use a machine and a zig zag stitch. Happy to sort it for you, could use stretch thread so it still flexes as required.
Take it to your tailor?
An iron on patch would be a nice fix but you could get some ribbon or material and some of that ‘wundaweb’ type stuff for hem cheating and iron of the ribbon or material on both sides.
It's a base layer. Don't worry about it. The moths got mine and they have a few holes but it doesn't stop them keeping me warm.
