Saw a Ned riding a black Mojo HD with DT Swiss forks today along the Kelvinside walkway at the back of the botanic gardens, heading away from the gardens. He certainly didn't look like a serious biker. I was travelling in the opposite direction at speed so couldnt see much i.e wheel size etc. What I did see was that it wasn't a recent DT Swiss fork and the decals were white and black from 6-7 years ago anyway so at a guess that could be 26"
It's great to see people judging people on the way they look. My neighbour owns a santa cruz nomad but always rides in trackies. Do you think I should report him to the police?
yes lol
You clearly don't understand the definition of a Ned.
I'll tell you what, next time I won't bother taking the time trying to help someone who may be substantially out of pocket. At some stage this was a very expensive bike. Now being ridden by someone the likes of who normally heckles cyclists as they pass them on an evening as they sit there with the rest of their Ned friends tanning bottles of buckfast then smashing them on the cycle path.
Sounds fair enough to me, but you didn’t make a citizen’s arrest?
There was a 26" Mojo for sale on Gumtree last week, near Glasgow. Think it was about £600 or so. TBH, its probably all it was worth.
I'm a pretty big guy Stu but I ain't risking some wee ned pulling a blade on me for someone else's carbon and I wouldn't expect anyone else to do the same for me. Safety first.
Haggis, for what its worth, i think you have done the right thing.
But this is STW....
Sorry Haggis was joking really. But on a serious note I wonder why high end bikes don’t come with a data tag or such like as standard.
No issue at all Stu. Just have to be careful out there. You never know who you're dealing with. Loads of the "Young Team" are out to prove themselves these days. Thinking they can post it on YouTube or the likes. I'm an amateur kickboxer so not scared in any way, shape or form, just not stupid either 😉
I did a similar thing years ago on here.
Saw a member of the walking dead riding a nearly new FSR.
He was your typical jaundiced haunted looking junkie riding a £2k bike up a street in Dennistoun.
Posted similar on here to see if anyone had lost their bike. Was judged by the
proletariat on here who thought I didn't know a bam on a stolen bike when I saw one.
Yeh sometimes you can just tell, I've seen a few kids, grey trakky bottoms tucked into socks, 'gucci' bum bag worn over the shoulder, riding a 3 grand enduro or DH bike in a city center precinct that's obviously either too small or too large for them. Hmmm...
In the last month I keep seeing a bloke in his 60s riding a big Canyon DH bike around the village. Usually with carrier bags and no helmet either.
Some people!!
If yall see a norco optic on the streets of Edinburgh or Glasgow let me know.
