anyone recognise the marking? I was told it was a DT swiss OEM, but think that may be a porky. Its 12mm rear maxle

Looks like a Spesh hub, also looks like a steel freehub body, not DT. Could possibly have their internals, but I think it's only the Roval hub that use them.

Formula guts in that one I think. Most of specs own hubs are theirs.
