Bought a wheel from him last week said he'd get it posted at the end of the week, still no sign of it and not replying to emails. So first of all does anyone know him, second is he ok and third can I have my wheel please?

Yup, nowt to worry about yet.
He sent me a DMR hub a couple of weeks ago which arrived very promptly (and saved me a huge amount of money and effort BTW).

Charmer or otherwise my email is like that there because my hotmail account was cloned, more than likely from this site.
And yes it's Wednesday morning, ONLY WEDNESDAY MORNING, lets say he sent it Friday we've have had Saturday and Sunday in between so unless he sent it special delivery, my guess is that you wouldn't see it until at least Thursday.
On the other hand you may never see it and he has run of to Brazil with your money.

Bought something from him last Wednesday and it arrived Monday morning, so he was still alive at the end of last week.
Having said that it was a granny ring which would be easier to pack and take to the post office than a wheel (if cycling to work).

This is a classic example of what's wrong with STW classified these days. All sellers are just users, readers etc who are usually just recycling their stuff and with actual jobs yet most buyers expect OnlineDiscountStore dispatch/delivery times. I'm always amazed by the wanted ads for xtr shifters, chains and cassettes. Why buy them here anyways?
for the last time, im not expecting crc delivery times but in any transaction where several emails are exchanged you build a picture of someone. That and the estimates they give for delivery generate an expectation.
So when someone replies very promptly throughout an exchange and highlights that things will arrive by a certain point you get the impression that's what will occur. When delivery doesn't happen you enquire, more than once, and that initial promptness in reply disappears you start to wonder. As this is an internet forum where quite often people know one another in 'real' life i thought i might put out a feeler and see if anyone knows mrclean and given his last thread whether first of all he is alright.

I've been reading the classifieds about this and (btw I never heard of him before never mind met him) he is either:
a- a total theiving scheming lying devious ****
b- is actually in / just out of hospital and is really really shit and incompetent at keeping folks in the loop and has never had anyone **** HIM over.
I'd go with b. I know it's a wheel. I dont know how much you paid. He's still posting and all. Let's be hopeful.
On the other hand I've been ****ed over for a few grand over the years (I'm old and had even more expensive hobbies). In the worst case scenario if it's an amount you could possibly afford to loose and chalk it up to experience then its not worth getting an ulser over / loosing a nights sleep. And your new found sceptisism will probably save you a few grand down the line.
That's my very valuable life experience with buying used - distilled to it's minimum!

id like to think it was b, others' experiences make me feel it's not
it's only a wheel and it's money i can lose and not keep me awake at night but it's the excuses and then no action that just reminds me how annoying the whole thing is. I'm not that fussed on revenge just making folk aware that the forum isn't always good (but i have to say 99% of it IS good!)

Jeez - I didnt know he was from here - now that really surprises me. We cant fart (oops) on a trail up here without someone knowing.
In a previous life when I got really pissed off was when the police turned up at my house one day after I'd bought a motor bike from a bike shop in Maidstone. Turned out it was stolen from Spain. The legal fees soon spiraled to the point it wasnt worth it.
