If so, would you perhaps be so good as to click the download link on this page in the Loughrigg Terrace section and see if you can unzip it and confirm if it actually is a working gpx.

I can download it to my phone but then dont have the first clue what to do with it then.

Many thanks

Yes, can download & unzip it on my iPhone then open it in the OS app I have installed.

Fairly pointless zipping it tbh, it’s only 9k uncompressed!

Yep - it's been zipped. You need to unzip it before you can do anything with it. Looks like it's been saves as a GPX Track (According to Basecamp). What App do you have on your phone to navigate with?

Best if it’s not too busy. You’ll enjoy trying to ride up Loughrigg terrace dab free as well

Actually you must know all that

Have you tried an unzip app?

What are you trying to open it in? Wahoo, Garmin, open maps etc?

Ossum many thanks all.

Agreed, but for some reason goddaddy WordPress wouldn't allow me to upload .gpx files. So I figured I'd try a zip file to see if it works. It did eventually work. I'll go back and try the raw gpx using the same method tomorrow.

I created it with OSApp, but then had a 'mare getting it from my phone to my PC. Then once I got the zip file back onto my phone I couldn't work out how the hell to unzip it to a specific location. I'm effing useless with phones. 🙂

Looks ok to me

Excellent. Wanted to be sure before I uploaded any others.

Ooh now that does sound like a good plan. Apart from that ditch bit near the bottom by the big oak tree. That'd never go...

Anyway thanks again. Will get some other routes uploaded.

...had a ‘mare getting it from my phone to my PC.

An easy way to do this step is to e-mail it to yourself.

If you make a gpx on your phone with the os map app you do know you can just log into the is website from your pc and all your routes are there too?

So you just download the gpx from their to your pc

Yep, but alas OS are one of a small group of cretinous ****s that have a very tight and over prescriptive password stipulation that my password doesn't fit. So I can't login to my PC without changing it to something temporary, which means I'd have to change it on my phones etc. CBA.
Tbh the creation of the gpx was fairly OK. It was getting it from the website back into OSApp that was the key bit.
