Tip find - 'Rudge Bi-Frame' made of True Temper steel tubing, not seen one before. Might build up with some retro bits soon, weighs a ton though

Great idea for a circus act who only want to go round and round in cirles. Just clamp it with a couple of degrees of bend in it.

Theres a old thread on the CTC forum, apparently they were badge engineered by Raleigh.

Nice find! I bought one cheap off eBay recently after seeing one and wondering why no-one builds folding bikes like this (that I know of - not that I've looked into it much).

Thought about building a retro MTB, but decided it'd be more useful as a tourer - one that I can get in the car when I otherwise wouldn't have room for a bike, cadge a lift with, take on the train and not have to worry about reservations, even take on the bus to do longer point-to-point road rides that I otherwise couldn't do. Or strap to a packraft.

It's heavy, yes, but I like the geometry for a tourer.

Old school, but that means standard parts (unusual for a folder).

Debating plumping for a carbon disc fork (Carbon Cycles do one with a 1" steerer - this is one of the major limitations of the frame) and maybe even a carbon seatpost (again a bit tricky to find in 25.4). Yes, for 3 times what I paid for the whole bike at best. V-brake on the back, BB7 on the front. QR wheels for even smaller packing. Nice capable bike.

I've got one. Rides ok for the period. Frame built under licence.

The similar design Ritchey break away bikes are meant to be very good

Wish this had happened 3 months ago.

Not because I would have saved much money (paid £60 for a complete bike) but because I would have avoided the hassle that ensued when the ****end I bought it off sent me someone else's bike, then wanted me to take time off work to wait in for a courier to collect it.

First bike I rode off road 30 odd yrs ago, made way for a proper atb, a Raliegh Mustang 😆
Some of the off piste at Mabie possibly may not have existed before I got that bike, certainly none before mate and I started exploring fire breaks etc
