However, I believe most SS hubs are 'generic' rebranded Novatec, whilst the rims are made by Alex. All perfectly serviceable.
From what I've heard SS wheel builds can be, shall we say, variable and may need a bit of fettling.
I bought wheels from SS when I was still 26" for trail and DH. Always found the Evo, Tesla and Tank hubs okay, rims okay but the builds have been hit and miss. I have had badly dishes wheels from SS but at the price a little fettle has been worth the purchase.

I think they are wider than Alex/Novatec... and they seem to have switched from Novatec anyway... but the important bit is they do all seem top be perfectly serviceable.

I'd struggle to call what I got a build.... lets call it pre-laced...
However I only paid £100 for a decent set of hubs, spokes, nipples and rims.
Weight is very noticeably lower than the wheels supplied with my T-130.... though I haven't weighed without tyres...
10 minutes with a spoke key fixed the build... but you could even pay a LBS to true them and be quids in....
They are half price at the moment.
I need them to go tubeless easily, be around 1500 g and have a good spares back up.
