I have ordered a Rotor 3D30 crank and need to remove the spider so I can mount a 46/30 direct mount ring.  Just wanted to ask whether anyone in Dorset may have one I can borrow or know where I might be able to purchase one for a modest price < £25

Thanks

Where in dorset? The LBS in my home town is always very helpful (for a fee, obviously, they have to pay the rent), thats in North Dorset, near Shaftesbury.

I'm in Blandford.  Is that Wheels Gillingham?

I tried to buy one once, the distributors made it difficult. I ended up posting it to them and they sorted it.

Power2Max sell them, but £££

I wanted to try one of those UBB bottom brackets (my crank is OEM), decided to spend the money on a ceramic press fit instead.

Velotech will change it for you if you post it, not cheap though.

Not sure why they make it so difficult\expensive

Yes, wheels. They've always been helpful and friendly to me.

"Do Offcamber not have one?" - Given I didn't buy the crank through them I always feel it's a cheek to ask.

Contemplating sending the crank back and getting another brand (not sure what though).  Just wish Shimano did a 46/30 or a 48/32 crank as I'd have gone for that.

I've got the genuine Rotor tool here, was told they are the only reliable version. Had to buy it from Germany for €95! I'm up in Scotland though...

"Had to buy it from Germany for €95!" - That's a rip off for what it is.  Might be cheaper for me to get a flight up.

It is without a doubt the worst-value thing I've ever bought. Shame you can't see the "interesting" conversation I had with Rotor about it - they won't speak to me any more 🙂

"Shame you can’t see the “interesting” conversation I had with Rotor about it – they won’t speak to me any more" - Haha.  I too sent them an email stating what a rip off it was.
