I have the frame, but the seatpost clamps were out of stock. I've bought a different one, however the height of the carbon seat tube it needs to cover is around 20mm, and most seatclamps aren't deep enough, and leave amount 5mm of raw frame at the bottom (looks a little odd)

What seatclamp do you use?

Thanks

Unfortunately I can't add any constructive but I'll be keeping an eye on this thread as I've got the same problem with my Nanolight and the Planet-X Svelte seatclamp, so I'd be interested to know which ones fit better too!

I bought a Nanolight to replace a cracked Cayo frame.

This probably won't help you but I used the clamp off that and it was a perfect fit.

I know exactly what you mean though, I've looked around for another clamp deep enough to sit properly but haven't found anything yet.

Hope that helps! 😳

I ordered a Superstar one last night as the picture of it looked deeper than most, worth a punt for £6. Should get it today and I'll let you know.

This is the Cayo clamp....as you can see its a little deeper:

^ That Cayo clamp is the one I'm using, really fancied a Thomson to match the stem but too shallow at about 13mm (IIRC).

Got the superstar clamp last night and its too short. Its actually around 15mm deep, however with the collart at the top it still leaves a gap of around 2mm at the bottom. Although I did get a little creative and stuck a 2.5mm BB cup spacer under the clamp. Looks OK.

Thinking of getting the Camapgnolo clamp, as that looks a lot deeper, plus it doesn't have a collar.

I've been wondering about the Salsa Lip-Lock as an alternative. I've got one on my steel Salsa Casseroll and it is a reasonably deep clamp. The Planet-X Svelte leaves a gap of about 2mm as well so I'd guess that's the same depth as the Superstar one. From measuring my Salsa clamp (a 30mm diameter so a can't actually try it out on the frame) I'd say it's about 16-17mm deep so it may just do the job...

Got an email back from Andy Palmer at Salsa regarding the Lip-Lock

"It’s 15mm from the bottom of the lip, to the bottom of the clamp so it looks like this will work great for you. "

Looks like the Lip Lock will work fine.
