Looking at one of the UD 29er forks on OO, Here anybody had one in their hands?
Anything else I should look at instead? I can budget a bit higher if necessary.

The brake options version looks very much like a new batch of the old 29er carbon fork that they used to supply with the rigid off-roaders. That was fine, ran one for nearly ten years on a basic 29er that was used on roads and off as my main commuter. It's a stiff fork and was sold separately as very strong; don't expect a vast amount of carbon-based damping but it was effective. Now moved on to a pal who still uses it.
Can't speak for the tapered version, that's clearly very different.

Not sure what's going on there at all. Will investigate.

It basically looks like an Exotic Carbon fork without the stickers (although Exotic reckon the 29er is 490cm axle to crown, where this is 480).

Which coincidentally, I have sat next to my desk as I ordered one on Saturday that turned up today...

Depends on what version you are after, but the straight steerer PM mount, QR dropout version is £115 delivered:

29er QR, 1 1/8 PM Brake mount

A bit more for the tapered steerer version:

Same, but tapered...

I got mine from a different supplier (sprintsports).....

I should have said in my earlier post - the one I ordered is for a 26er Inbred; so 1 1/8" straight steerer, QR dropouts & IS mounts (so they match what is currently on the Reba's fitted at the moment).

This One

I posted a thread a while ago asking about what a-c length to go for.
My Reba (Reba Race; 85-115 U-turn) comes to 495 a-c length at full length & for a lot of my riding I run it locked out...although I removed the lockout lever a while back & not bothered putting it back on again.
At the weekend I re-fitted the lockout lever, so I could fix the fork length and give it a ride around. 495 is pretty long at the front, although feels fine - I suppose you get used to whatever you are riding.
I then dropped the fork 30mm to 465 & re-locked it. This also felt fine & probably more in keeping with the intended geometry of the bike; so rather than going for the 29er fork (with a 26" wheel) which would almost match the a-c of the Reba, I went for the 465 fork.

Just need to get round to fitting it now.

Yes, bought a previous version around about maybe 05-08...worked well, still got it but not on a bike.
