Anyone had a Rockshox volume spacer come adrift?

Rockshox Pike, 2 volume spacers and they have come apart so one is in the fork leg. How difficult will it be to get out? Haven’t had time to try and get it out yet. Any ideas?

Yeah had it happen before, all you need is a shock pump to let the air out and refill, a cassette tool and spanner and about 30 seconds of your time. They thread together and there’s a Allen key hole under each one to nip them up

How do you know they have come apart? Presumably you've got the top cap off, so just turn them upside down & it should fall out.

@ceept yeah got the top cap off and can see it. Tried that and it didn’t fall out but there is some grease holding it in then I had to shoot off to work. Will try it again later. Thanks chaps.

Telescopic aerial off a radio is the perfect tool for the job, if non available then it's a skinny stick or wire with a slight hook on the end, through the Allen key hole and hook  the base of the spacer.

Old spoke with a little hook bent into the tip?

Aye, they were my thoughts. Tonight’s job after a day at the in laws. Could do with a nice destress.

The genuine Rockshox bottomless tokens can be screwed together fairly snug and won't work loose.

I've seen many forks come though the workshop with cheap Ebay 3D printed versions that are very prone to working loose as the threads just precise enough and if you try and screw them together snugly, they just slip and strip.

I'd only ever advise genuine tokens. Yes, they're expense compared to aftermarket 3D printed ones, but well worth it in my experience
