As above, particularly headsets and bottom brackets.

Thanks.

2018? What specifically do you want to know? I can tell you the headset bearing numbers for the aluminum version if that helps (would imagine it is the same for the carbon).

Remove stem. Remove fork. Cartridge bearings fall out.

Reassembly is the reverse of removal.

Advice on removal and fitting of both on a carbon frame please.

Hi mate, not an Anthem here,a carbon jeffsy but I'll give what little info I can till an expert happens along.

Firstly, during assembly I used carbon friendly grease. Parktool PL1 is what I used but other ones are available.

My BB is a press fit straight into a carbon shell. I used a cheap eBay tool to push the bearings in. Basically a long threaded bolt with 2 large washers and a nut. The tool wasnt great and pretty scary to use of I'm honest. I'll be getting a better tool next time. If you have a threaded BB..... I envy you! Lol

I have "drop in" head set bearings so that was pretty easy. I just lightly covered them in the same grease, fitted them and preloaded the headset as normal.

Hope that helps a little until more Giant specific info is given mate.

Cheers. A bit more detail would have helped I guess...

I was wondering if the headset cups would be bonded into the frame so you just change the bearings or if it's possible to knock the cups out?

Also the same for the bottom bracket,  if there's sleeves in the frame that you push the bottom bracket into?

I'll try and and some pics of the frame later. 2013 frame.

On my frame there are no cups at all mate.

Bearings literally drop straight into the carbon headtube on the Jeffsy.

Similar on the BB, with the press fit BB being pressed straight into the carbon outer shell.

If you post a pic or 2 on here we should be able to tell you if the frame has cups etc. 👍

Ok, so today didn't quite go to plan. Knocked the bb71 bb out and the metal sleeves came out too....

Took into a bike shop and they said to loctite the sleeves back in with a stronger compound than the norm threadlock but couldn't remember the compound. Any ideas, I've had a look and would 638 be the right one?

Also suggested using a Wheels Manufacturing bottom bracket that screws together so to avoid the dreaded bb creak. I might start another thread about that but anyone on this one used one and if so did it work with quietening things down?

Never tried it but I recently came across PF BB's with an alloy sleeve screwing the two sides together.  Might be worth a go for £20.

I'd certainly advise using something like that to act as a jig to make sure you get the 2 halves aligned and properly bedded in when gluing them back in.  Just make sure you lube the BB up properly before hand.
