i think thats what they are arent they? gpx files? routes i can download and upload straight to my memory map program?
im not too in the know with routes in scotland so would appreciate the sharing of scottish route knowledge.

Try bikely.com or mapmyride or the various other sites.
GPX is the most conveniant format as pretty much every program (inc MM) can use it though you can use programs (eg GPS babel) to convert between the formats (MM uses mmo file format but that only works on MM)
