Posted it in the FS forum by mistake. I fancy riding to the inlaws during half term and despite looking at an OS map I can't seem to find a good route from Guildford. theotherjonv suggested a route but it would be great if anyone has a gpx file to share. Any suggestions?

Cheers
Rich

I live in between the 2 and the options are not very good. The Wey navigation (not weatherproof) followed by the Basingstoke canal gets you close.

North Downs Way from Guildford to Seale. On road over Hogs Back and into Tongham and Ash where you pick up the Basingstoke Canal. Head on the towpath to Deepcut where you can either road it up to the A30 and Swinley beyond or go offroad through Windmill Hill, Colony Gate and along Chobham Ridges and then road to A30 and Swinley beyond.

Folk seem to ride off road from Tunnel Hill trails near Aldershot to Swinley. You can get to Tunnel Hill from Guildford off-road / small roads (edit: @allthepies route suggestion seems similar). A bit of a longer way round perhaps

Saw your response / question on the other forum, but thought better to bring over to this one

On the os map, where it says tunnel hill is actually a bit misleading, the words are right on the southern border of the TH area. The danger area referred to is actually the ash ranges one, to the south of the road / railway line, and actually is bordered all round by fence / flags. It's the catchment for all the ranges at ash, stoney castle, henley park, etc. And is definitely no go when flags are out.

Tunnel hill is the broadly triangular area to the north of the road / railway, with the Basingstoke canal to the west and the b3012 to the north.
It's mod land, so strictly you can only ride on gravelled tracks and rights of way according to the bye laws, check out Trail Action Group website for a 'position' on what you can actually do.
