I'm doing TORQ 12 for Macmillan in a couple of weeks, and rather than spend £30 on a jersey that'll probably get only one wear (albeit a long one 😉 ) does anyone have one they don't use and i can save the £30 and throw some of that into sponsoring myself instead.

Failing that - what about a purple one? I was inspired by a friend's losing fight against a brain tumour, and her favourite colour is purple so that would be a fall back.

Size would hopefully be L or bigger (can go baggy, don't really fancy skintight) but if needs must.....

I know this should probably be in the wtd section but no-one reads that. Mods can move if they want.

Oh, and if anyone wants to

Wouldn't buying one also be giving money to the charity?...

Probably - depends what margin they have worked in to their selling price, and would that be more or less than if someone with a spare loaned it to me and i put some cash straight in instead.

Yes it would - get one bought. After all, cancer is something none of us are immune to and we all may need MacMillan one day...

Jon,

I've got a L/XL (it's more of a L really) Macmillan/Dorset Bike Ride one (it's in the macmillan green and white)

I'll ping you a picture when I get home (is your e-mail in your profile?) to see if it's what you want?

More than happpy to loan it to you and you put the money saved in to the collections pot.

Cheers.

Andy

Thanks Andy, email in profile.

Others, that'll be the saved money straight in to the pot, not trying to be a cheapskate, just trying to maximise how much macmillan make out of it.

OP is already raising money for the charity. I very much doubt that much, if anything, from the sale of the jersey goes to charity, certainly not £10-£30 which the OP would be able to chuck in the pot if he didn't have to buy one (happy to be proved wrong though!)

Fully agree with the OP, I hate pointless waste (don't even get me started on all the pink shit that gets bought for the RFL!) and there's no point buying one to be worn once if he can just borrow one instead. Surely the point of the jerseys is to spread awareness (which borrowing one will achieve) not to raise money directly?
