Thinking about getting a new road bike , and quite like the look of the j guillem major, but cant find any reviews, anyone got one/ridden one etc?
Have seen tye various reviews on here of their mountain bikes, but not seen much about the road bike.
Cheers
Nope but been looking at them for a while, nice frames, have you ridden one?
I hired one for a week when on holiday in mallorca - it was great but maybe a little too up right for me. Thinking about buying a Formentor or Orient but can find many reviews of those either.
I considered Guillems when I shopped for a Ti road bike last year; one thing that put me off was that there was no mention anywhere in their literature/marketing about butted tubing, leading me to suspect that the tubes were plain gauge. Which would make them heavy and overpriced compared to the competition.
It might be that they do use butted tubing but have somehow failed to mention it; I didn't pursue it with Guillem directly because IÂ ended up going with a Reilly T325 as the geo was so bang-on what I wanted it was like getting a custom frame.
Cyclist tested the Formentor, which has hydroformed tubing which would manipulate wall thickness in a similar way to butting, but it is both heavier and more expensive than my T325
