Morning all,

As above, anyone got a few spare Rockshox crush washers in Bristol? Reduced the travel in my 35’s last night without realising I’d need to replace these and they’re now a bit leaky from the bolts. Typically everywhere locally that might have some is closed for Easter.

Happy to chuck a few quid you’re way/to charity if you do!

Cheers

morning, I dont have spares unfortunately but...

I have used a plastic shrader valve dust cap to make a washer, just slice of a section about 2/3 mm thick as even as you can, works a treat.

happy trails

I reuse mine but I flip them over each time. Real pain the get the out though.

At a pinch, you might find the right sized o-ring for the recess in a DIY store. PTFE tape might be a reasonable temporary option as well.

I've never actually known them leak, always thought most of the sealing was done by the interference fit in the lowers. That's why they need a bit of a wallop to break the lowers free after loosening both bolts.

I've measured new ones v old ones thickness and they've always been the same, so I tend to just reuse the old ones again. Might be your leak is due to something else?

If they're only a bit leaky I'd just ride them and top up a splash of oil when I got new washers.

Possibly is due to something else. It only seems to be the rebound side that is leaking, it’s not a lot at the moment, just enough to notice that the rebound adjuster is slightly oily. Will just ride it for now until I can get some more. Needs some fresh seals anyways so will have to open them back up soonish.
