I'm tempted to try a 2.6, and have been looking at Magic Mary, Minion DHF, Bonty SE4 etc.

Anyone doing this? What to you have?

Is 25mm internal rim too narrow to work?

I've a 2.6 Nobby Nic on front of Stooge, i didn't want to build a full 29+ wheel for it, so went with largest tyre i felt fitted well on Flow rim. Really like it, still rolls well but loads of grip

I've run a 29*2.5 minion on the front of my Chromag and it was very confidence inspiring!

35 mm internal rims. FunWorks.

2.6 inch Magic Mary Addix Soft on front and back. Use this on my "fun all mountain" bike (150/150), 27.5 PLUS bike.

Will keep it this way. The grip is insane - love it!

I've got a 2.6 Nobby Nic on the front of my Smuggler. Works a treat. Would love something similar on the back, but there's not enough room.

2.6" Butcher Grid on 30mm id rims on the front of my (27.5) Reign - in combination with a Supergravity Rock Razor on the back, I absolutely love it!!

I've a 2.5 minion which it seems is bigger than most of the 2.6 bullshit out there

To add on rim width - I don’t imagine it would bulk up quite so well on 25mm, and therefore some of the benefit over a 2.4 or 2.5 is lost, but ultimately if it fits it fits.  If it were me and I had a newish 2.4 on front I wouldn’t bother, but if you need a new tyre anyway then go for it!

I just put 29x2.6 Nobby Nics on my hardtail. No bigger really than the Ardent 2.4s I had which is disappointing. They may stretch a bit. Haven't ridden them yet.

Front rim is Velocity Dually, rear is Velocity P35.

running a forekaster 2.6 and ardent 2.6 rear on 25mm rims

Im around 70KG and running 16PSI front 20PSI rear

Gave them a hammering at the weekend on a VERY rocky descent (The roaches) no punctures and gripped liked stink.

they haven't seen any mud yet though. I think some tyre designs are ok with the narrower rim

cheers all

I'd like a new Hope 35W to put it on but that may have to wait, so I may take a punt on the current rim first (EX471)

cookci is your Forekaster the dual compound or 3C and where did you buy from?  Best I’ve seen for the 2.6 in 3C is Singletrack Bikes at £51.  Apologies for the slight hijack reggie.

Nobby Nic 2.6 front and rear.  Great.  I just hope they fit on the new Cotic Solaris.
