Currently in Val and looking at options for a semi lift served adventure. But need info.... Anyone headed on the tracks south of Into The Wild trail, round to Les Pissets ( honestly) or even round the next hill as well?
Seems an obvious option but as we all know so well, what looks good on the map can be utter shite...
Also, the MTB route down from Col d Iseran, does it follow the G5 or the G5 aletrnatif?
And no, I'm not as stupid as I am coming across here, just not ridden here much and my Google Fu is weak
Unless I'm mistaken on where you're heading, you'll be in the Vanoise National Park. Bikes aren't allowed in the park.
EDIT
the MTB route down from Col d Iseran
I wasn't aware there was one - a cheeky route down a footpath?
EDIT 2 : Am in Val at the moment, but working - bikes from next week 😀
Hi Orange.
Righto and, I meant to ask that as well but forgot. Shame, would be good to get a bit of variety.
Regarding the GR route, I've only found snippets of information about it. Couple of guided groups seem to do it, but no idea of exact route. It may be part of something called Heidi. 😋
What do you work at in VD?
In the unlikely event you want someone to ride with next week then shout..
Cheers for the input
I used to work here ages ago, but now I don't really work "in" Val - just working remotely doing my boring office job from here for a week before my hols here (3 weeks from tomorrow).
Kids are at the club this week and I work from the apartment during the day then have kid time in the mornings and evenings. Wife arriving tomorrow evening so biking will be possible from there on in but might have a cheeky run out tomorrow morning 🙂
Thanks for the offer of company, I will ping you if I get a chance - but with the family and kids it's not always well planned (sometimes just a case of "oh, there's a couple of free hours, they'll have lunch and I'll get out for a quick spin").
