Mulling over whether to put in a last minute entry for the BIG race on the 10th!
Bump!
I guess the lack of answers means not many....
I'm racing both the Marathon (Fri) & the Roc itself (Sun).
Go down with a big group on the Wednesday (but I'm Belgium based hence perhaps it's more popular an event for us)
There was actually a 'sister' race in the Ardennes earlier in the season but nothing like the size of the real Roc!
If you are racing don't forget your medical certificate
Been going every year for 10years and its a great event, awesome course with great weather.
Last year the FFC quietly changed the rules at sign on and created utter chaos.
I wont be going back for a long time because of it
I've never ridden the Roc before as such (but have ridden in the region)
based on that & the experiences of my friends I'm fitting some bigger (& more puncture resistant) rubber
Just ordered a pair of 29x2.35 Snakeskin RoRo's
Never found it to be particularly tough on tyres, think Ive had 1 puncture on course in the time ive been going.... Ive ridden all kinds of bikes there too. My recommendations based on the last few years have been Race king rear with an X-king front....
I'm going with the brother in law and two mate's. Signed up for the roc challenge in a drunken moment of possible stupidity. Should be a laugh with over 2000m of climbing.
Keep toying with the idea of entering the Roc Marathon (83km on Friday 10th). Registration closes on the 1st October! I'd be going billy-no-mates though, as no one else I ride with is up for it!
