i may be wrong, but since the work has been done on it, it is pretty ok to ride now.

Are you setting off from Langsett end?Coz you'd be better taking the trail to North America, and riding round the Reservoir. The beer in the Waggon and Horses is usually pretty good too.

Ton, you are right if you are only planning to ride Mickleden Edge and a little bit towards Cut Gate but where it starts to level off it is still extremely boggy. Also the track down North America which hasn't had much work done is very claggy so not suitable to do a circular route back to Langsett. I'd be looking at the tracks around Tinker Well and Hepworth if you want a decent pootle without mud up to the axles.

I'd have thought that no matter how much rain we've had, the trail from the top end of Langsett Res, over the bridge and then up the zig zags all the way up onto the Cut Gate path should be ok - its all rock? Non? North America will be a bit (aka, very) mucky. I'd just go up to the bit where it flattens off on the very top bit, have a rest and then come back down the way you came.

Glad to see you had a good ride, the wind must have dried it out today, either that or you avoided the bits Mrs PB found last night. Strangely I've never seen any fish up there either 😉

Bloody hell. I'd have stopped where you took the pic of the stream as I'd have thought the top would have been boggy! Wow!

Good job man. Surprised at the conditions. I nearly didn't go out yesterday evening over Jacobs but then thought that Shackleton, Cook et al wouldn't have jibbed out at the prospect of a razz and a pint on the off chance that the weather might be cack.

Nick, as soon as you are ready mate, give me a ring and we will sort something.

on the bike front.....it is fantastic. i know it is cheating but it is the only way i can get into the hills now, so it will have to do.
