Dodged the rellys and hauled my arse out of bed at 7am. Didn't feel like it but despite / because of the mud MrsSpw3 and I enjoyed a quiet loop around Bakewell. No-one else seemed to be out. Loads and loads of dog-walkers though, which was weird.

Anyone else?

managed a hilly roadie ride, of about 25ish miles. Felt rubbish for some reason... maybe too many mince pies.

Morning ride? We did and really enjoyed the relatively quiet Peak District before anyone else was up. That and the fact that it enforced a Christmas Dinner rather than Christmas Lunch so no Massive Post Prandial Dip to contend with!

That's brave -I'd be worried the uphill might prompt a Second Coming for the turkey 😯

I was out round Bakewell this morning, but a bit later on, around 9.30ish before going back to sort the dinner out. Been a bit of a tradition for me to get out on Christmas Day for years now. +1 for the loads of dog walkers, I've never seen so many.

It was in my plans, but a ride on the 23rd left me with knackered brake pads and sticky (stuck) pistons in my avids, so no ride today 🙁

And aYuletide Global Warming Bomus was the weather - sunny and an icecap melting 13 degrees when I left the car park after the ride. Anyone else get unseasonal weather?

Chunky - how far North were you riding?

far south, local church yard has a tree in blossom too...

Serious lack of rain too and average temps of 10 - 14 degrees. Bizarre winter.

Nowt today.
I was at work yesterday and that knocked me for six, so, hopefully going to get out for an hour at the least tommorow.

Happy festive trails folks.

I was out for 4 hours with my friend on a very windy moray firth coast. " hey, it's blowing a hooley, let's go ride along a clifftop!!" Then up the Bin of Cullen where I got blown over. It was ace. Also saw cherry blossoms which is disturbing as we're about the same latitude as inverness... So quite far north compared to those others who have seen blossoms.

23 mile road ride yesterday but it was, and still is, blowing a gale. Decided to go into work today as I find boxing day the dullest day ever so 20 mile each way commute.

Me and Mrs Trimix had a nice spin round our local trails.

Home in time for a massive roast pork with a carpets worth of crackling - guilt free 🙂

34kms to give the legs a stretch. Extremely windy but clever route choice meant I was sheltered for a lot of the way by trees, none of which fell on me, which was nice. I met 2 groups of people out in the woods, all dolled up to the nines with their posh Chrimbo gear on. Obviously carrying out Christmas day traditions of going for a family walk. They couldn't have been more miserable and rude if they tried! My cheery hellos and merry christmas greetings were met with silence, looking away and in one case the group which was large enough to block a wide fireroad, refused to allow room for me to pass. This resulted in a walking pace game of chicken, which I won but left me wondering why they were so miserable on Christmas day of all days. Everyone I normally meet in the woods are friendly or at the very least acknowledge you.

Did the Stour Valley down to my moms at a moderate pace. Saw almost no one, sweet. And then consumed a box of quality street. Oh yes.

Christmas Eve, Day and Boxing Day for me - the latter two being really early, home not much after dawn, just lovely to be out. Every year on Christmas Day for me - wouldn't have it any other way.

Christmas Day... no chance, but did manage a 56k bash around the local canals, woods and firs on the HT on Christmas Eve morning. Tried out a new stem and bar set up, very nice too. Planning a FS ride between now and new year.
