Whilst out riding at the weekend going over a small jump i landed the bike normally, not even slightly front heavy, heard a loud clang and the fork ran through all its travel only to stay there! I've only had the forks for 6 months, they are on my P7 and get a reasonable hammering once a week but nothing more than one would expect when out on the MTB.

Seems something inside the fork has let go, just wondering if anyone else has had trouble with the 2010 Revelations?

Tis a shame because otherwise they are excellent forks and the biggest pain is that i live in Oz, not going to be cheap to post back to CRC!

That doesn't sound encouraging. They are air. Have had revs before, 2006 dual air, which were great. Like i say, performance excellent, loud clang and loss of function less good! 🙂

Sounds like a blown seal in the air spring. It'd be worth taking them apart to have a look given that return postage is a bit prohbitive. If you can suss out what's wrong you will probably be able to source spares from TFTuned (Obviously fettling them yourself will void any warranty but then buying mail order form Oz it was a chance you took).

+1 blow air seal, get them to the Australian SRAM Distributor to sort or strip inspect and get parts from distributor.

No problems with my 2010 Rev Dual Airs; one of the best forks I've ever had.
Just out of interest LoCo, why would the Aussie distributor want to sort this? I'm guessing the OP bought on price so will have to deal with the retailer direct.

Best fork I've ever had when it works. Unfortunatly mine's gone "clang" twice now. Fingers crossed that the latest repair is the last.

The usual problem is with the U-Turn going "pop" (i.e. once it's blown it sits at 120mm travel)

There seemed to be a rash of this happening when they launched, never had it myself though, mine have been perfect.

Have already contacted the local importer and they won't touch them. CRC have been excellent though, they will help out with postage costs and send to Fishers for repair. It was only $90 to return them anyhow which is probably less than it would have been to get new seals and what have you out here.

How can it be a blown seal though, +ve and -ve air pressures were as they should be, one of the first things i checked. It sounds like something is actually moving around in the fork.

And yes indeed price was the main factor, the same forks out here are nearly twice the price as in the UK, not really a hard choice to make!!!

It was worth a try contacting the distributor they may have been feeling helpful.

Yeah, distributors are odd out here, sometimes great other times utterly useless.

Take the distributor for Orange bikes, the guy i spoke with wanted $2000 (about 1100 quid) for an Orange P7!!! Or there was the distributor for Crank Brothers who replaced the spring that I broke on my egg beaters free of charge!

After my experiences of various RockShox's (from new) I wouldn't go near Rockshox again. Buy Fox and keep the stanchions clean.

I've never had issues with any of the big fork names. Owned Marzocchis (pre asian manufacture), Fox and Rock Shox.

Its all gone wrong at once this time though, New S-Works Stumpy came with faulty forks so they are currently away being repaired and the supposedly simple and impossible to trash steel SS blows its forks a week later! I'm cursed is all, its not the forks 🙂
