You don't need to be an 'investor' to invest in Singletrack: 6 days left: 95% of target - Find out more
Bike or boots, not fussed either way.
Mates of mine did their own version of it (on foot) a few years back, detouring to take in some bits they didn't want to miss. I joined them for the last couple of nights so walked Achfary to Cape Wrath (then gave them a lift home). I should still have their route somewhere if you're interested. I think it was two full weeks, with every third night indoors and a couple of days rest.
That would be great if you still have it.
Harvey's do a good map. Looks like quite a lot would be hike-a-bike, tracks probably not easily visible.
Sorry WML, can't find all the details to hand but the route was as follows:
Fort William to the Cluanie Inn
Cluanie to StrathCarron (via Alltbeith, Glomach)
Strathcarron to Kinlochewe
Kinlochewe to Ullapool (via Carnmore, Shenavall, Dundonnell) This was supposed to involve a ferry trip over to Ullapool that the boat owner cancelled at the last minute.
Ullapool to Kylesku
Kylesku to Cape Wrath (via Achfary, Foinaven, Kinlochbervie and Sandwood Bay)
I found a zip file with all the maps on it and am currently uploading it. I'll stick a link in here when it's done.

Wasn't a bad day for doing Foinaven

Cheers for that.
FWIW, they posted some stuff ahead too (spare clothes, some specific foods, maps etc.).
