If so, what's it like, how long's it take and which route do you use? Also, where's the best place I could dump the car/van for the day (I'll be living in Ciren', bit don't fancy riding the whole way)

FWIW, I'll be at Nationwide (of woods behind fame).

I have a GPX route that covers it almost entirely, you can ride on cycle paths/small lanes to Swindon then cross town on a cycle track that leads to an old railway line which will deliver you very close to Nationwide. You could even include Croft Woods (the infamous woods) as well. In fact riding from Cirencester would be fine and less parking hassle.

The railway track is in a bit of a state at the moment so you'd need something to handle the slop. I ride this on CX bike quite a lot.

In summary, simply follow NCN 45 from Cricklade and you'll be sorted

Cheers David. Would you mind sending me the GPX so I can have a look?

I don't really fancy going all the way from Ciren, I think that circa 20 miles each way is a bit too far. Or maybe I'm just being a pansy...

I headed that way from Cricklade to Blunsdon last month, and it was a nice, quiet road.

^ This.

We do this ride from Old Town to Cricklade and back every week for a pub ride.

It's old railway tracks for 75% and a bit of road for the rest.
