Wife's focus has a cracked wing-mirror glass on the driver side, I've ordered a new one from here www.wingmirrorman.co.uk (yes really!!!). I can't see an obvious way of getting the old glass out. Is it a full blown dismantly job or is there a sneaky trick?
Thanks
Simon
Apologies, wrong forum and I don't know how to change it 😳
Pull the outside tip of the mirror away from the housing, the plastic backing plate and mirror should unclip with some force. Seperate old mirror from backing plate, attatch wires for heating if present then re-assemble in the reverse order.
That's if it's the same as on my 51 focus estate.
Hope that helps
Neil
Thanks Neil,
Its a 2009 model, I think the new mirror comes with backing plate and electrics. I'll give it a go, not much to lose in damamging the old glass, but I'm wary of damaging important gubbins in the mirror housing. I heard mention that you have to make a sideways type movement to release it?
