How do you get the bearings around the bottom bracket off? The only way I can see is to stick it in a vice and wiggle it about a bit, but that seems rather crude.

A friend has just had this done at his lbs. Apparently they 'pull' off.

Oh dear. That probably means mine are seized on... Vice it is then!

Well I had a pull (and a tap with a hammer) before he took it to the lbs and it wasn't shifting.

mine just pulled off, and new ones pushed on. Id say just take out with a hammer, thats all an lbs is going to do lets be honest.

Brute force seemed to work pretty well. Gonna clean up the areas where they sit though, it's a bit rough!
£14 each for a bearing though... Blimey!
