Thinking about getting a YT on the C2W. Our company uses a specific scheme. It looks like YT only deal with the Green Commute Initiative. anyone had experience of using anything else when buying from YT? or is this not possible?
Don't think it's possible. CGI are one of the best scheme providers and as a result have lower commission fees, which is probably why the direct selling companies now use them. Petition your employer to change to use them (I have and my employer has now switched). Sell it to them on the basis of supporting local independent shops, better choice for employees and better ethics as a scheme provider.
It depends how your company wants to do it. You don't need a scheme at all, your company can buy the bike (or you buy it and claim it back on expenses) then you pay it back out of your salary, no middle man required. Takes very little admin for your accountant.
The caveat for that is that if you want a bike over £1k they'll need a consumer credit license, if they don't you'll need to do it through a scheme. And for YT, GCI is the only option.
Only possible if your company use GCI unfortunately. Some retailers take other vouchers but not YT.
cheers for the advice. think ill see if I can get our accountant to agree to use GCI
