Hi
I've got an Uprising sat in my loft bought as a birthday present now I'm thinking of building it up Is there any hidden problems or just plain old problems I need to know about??
I've bought the frame, headset ,fox float x rear shock and a spare rear triangle the seller all other bits are coming off my old Santa Cruz Blur
Any input would be great

Sometimes...in the morning.
What happened to my post???
Anyway, yes I have one, love it - can't imagine anything better for me.
Issues- well it's 26" so get stocking up on decent tyres. Tyre clearance at the back is minimal - I'm running a 2.25" Ardent at the moment. They are also quite short, I've swapped out my medium/large front triangle for a large.
The rise great though, stick it in low/slack for maximum fun and enjoy.
Brilliant Stevet1 no paint cracking round the metal insert on the chainstay ? what forks are you running ?
I am running a m/l and I am 5ft 10" just
I thought about it, but history shows that it doesn't end well.
I used until it broke and was replaced under warranty. I still think it was one of the best bikes I’ve ridden. IMO it’s a bit of a shame that fashion has kind of killed the bike (larger wheels etc). The rear tyre clearance is minimal however; I found a Spesh Purgatory a great rear tyre for that bike.
what broke on yours then edward2000 ? I have a brand new spare rear triangle so if that breaks its not too bad if its the front triangle then I am definitely screwed!!! I have emailed evil a few times regards the frame and they have been rapid in their response
5'10" you should be okay on the M/L unless you like long bikes. I'm 6' and the M/L felt a bit cramped but finding the large perfect. Got a set of Pikes set to 160mm on mine. The forks are the (relatively) weak link at the moment compared to the rear, thinking of a coil 'upgrade' for them. But I'm nit-picking, it's ace.
No cracking or anything around mine. The worst wear is on the dog bone links which are prone to cable rub. I've put heli-tape on mine now.
if its the front triangle then I am definitely screwed!!!
Weeeeeel I have a spare M/L front triangle as it happens 🙂 as above, swapped it out for a Large.
PM'd you regarding front triangle 👍
It was the rear triangle which cracked where the two chainstays met (what’s that bit called?). Evil replaced it however with an insurgent and we’re easy to deal with. IME the warranty experience was much better than their reputation suggests.
I am the second owner so no warranty for me but they were 'stoked' I was building one up (I think that means pleased in yankee language) maybe they have got their act together finally ?? I do hope so as they build some cracking bikes and I would call that a result for you
