These are available at a good price from my LBS, and the quoted weight is on par.
Reviews of the Flow S1 wheels look good, but not much about on these - which have 35mm internal rims, perfect for 2.8in tyres.
Any experience on durability of hubs, build and rims? Feel nice to ride?
I bought Baron S1 on Neo hubs from CRC for the Mrs, but I rode them for a couple of months, they are a great wheel, we got them for Maxxis WT tyres which are designed to run on 35mm internal wheel (2.5). Transformed the feel of my "new" Transition Patrol, low pressures,no squirm, stack of grip. I'm a chunky fella and they lasted fine with my north/south downs thrashing plus a trip to the sierra nevadas with Ciclo Montana in the land of rim death..
I gave them to the wife when I eventually got my Sun Ringle Duroc 40, which can also be had for cheap now and are slightly lighter/wider.
As far as I understand the Stans baron rim is derived from the duroc 40 - I'm now reliably informed sun rungle make a lot of rims for stans.
Both are great, feel virtually identical, I would be happy with either.

Thanks for the detailed feedback, I knew at least one person must have tried them.
Probably best for me to stick with the Stan's wheels for hub spares - and if they may be a bit more burly than the Durocs.

Edited to scale them to approx correct dims.
Cheer boss, going above and beyond there!
Yep the Barons will definitely be more fitting for my needs.
It's all right, I agonised over which one, so both profiles burned into my memory, ended up getting both!
I have a set of Barons, paired with some 3" Purgatory tyres. Very impressed so far.
I'm over 130kg and ride a hardtail with little delicacy. The rims haven't needed a hint of truing in the 7 months that I've owned them. I swapped from a 45mm rim and it gave the tyre a slightly rounder profile which seems to make direction change more fluid.
Bearings are still smooth, but then they've not really seen much moisture this year. I use a pair of Arch S1 wheels for winter. They lasted two Winters (10-12 months I'd guess) before needing new bearings.
Sounds good cheers.
