Decided to spend a bonus from work on what appears to be a nice deal on the above frame from CRC.

The intention is to move all bits over from my Dartmoor primal plus ht, and use it as n+1 when I fancy a different ride.

At 5’11” but with ickle legs (30” inside leg) I am normally on a large Santa Cruz and the Dartmoor was a large, (although got on with a medium mk2 soul) but crc only had medium in stock. Reading the limited reviews for the ns suggested it is very long so I might get away with it. Reach is 5mm shorter than the Dartmoor so not too bad.

But it’s still quite a bit of money to waste if it’s too small once built.

Bit of a long shot, but has anybody got or ridden one and can offer an opinion on sizing?

Thanks.

Hi there twonks. I have the 2016 Carbon Snabb and absolutely love it. Size wise I am 5'10" with 32" inside leg and it is fine for my riding. I don't think the geometry has changed too much between the two but my experience may not help too much if it has. 5mm effective reach isn't too much, is there much difference in stack height between what you had before and the Snabb? In my experience it is a combination of both these things that makes the difference.

Cheers.

I've only ridden one for a short demo and that was a large. Being 5'8" I expected it too feel a bit too big but it felt pretty good so I'd probably get that size if I was to buy one. Best to try have a sit on one at the very least if at all possible.

Thanks guys. Problems is I've done the typical bloke thing and ordered it in a moment of madness last night, and it's on its way now..oops.

Looking at reach and stack, the Dartmoor is 450mm reach and 644mm stack, with 605 ett

Snabb is 445mm reach, 630mm stack and 621 ett

My other bikes are a large SC Superlight from 2007  and large 2013 Ibis Mojo SLR.

Both small cockpits apparently and both feel good, albeit it 70mm stems.

Edit. Just looked at figures for a MK2 Cotic Soul medium, that I also had for a while.

Reach 418.6mm, stack 556.2mm and ett 593mm.

Stem was 70mm again but the stack figure says it should have been much more cramped than any other bike, although it felt great to ride. Seat post was stuck out miles though, and it's 10mm longer in seat tube than the NS.

I was all excited for new build time but can't help feel it may be too cramped.

Question is, do I risk it or send it back and look for something else that will be more fitting and around £1100 tops.

There's a nice looking Salsa in Merlin or even spend more for a Cotic Flare Max. (Must take 650+ 2.8s)

Oh, decisions decisions...

Remember the dartmoor will also be getting reachier when it sags (unless that's the sagged length) while the Snabb won't. TBH 445mm isn't really short, it's not #progressive but it's in a sensible working range, so it'll be more about your personal taste and shape than about "too short"

(it says 455mm on the NS website btw)

I haven't ridden the Snabb Plus but the 650b one was pretty impressive straight away, I like the looks of this one. By all means ride it for a bit then sell it to me for a pittance.

Well it’s here.

Seems very well engineered and is certainly quite long and low.

Will get pics and build it tomorrow, after a side by side comparison of my other bikes, just to be half sure it’s a good fit.

Did you complete the build?

How does it ride?

Hi J. Sorry for the huge delay, just noticed you asked the above!

The Snabb rides very well indeed. Got me out of trouble on downhills quite a few times as it just handles rocks and lumps very well without getting thrown off line.

Uphill is great although not much better than my earlier Ibis Mojo SLR on 26" wheels.

Having said that, I have now just ordered a nice new Ibos Ripmo as I miss the carbon loveleness. Very nuch not needed but I'm a sucker for new toys and at the time of life where disposable income is available.

Wanna buy the Snabb???? haha
