Particularly on the newer geometry model.
And how do you like it, what width bars are you using with it?
Just considering my options.
50mm stem seems to be a common choice on the Lapierre owners forum, I'm just about to fit a 70mm to see what that's like (think 50mm will be a bit short for me and it's a pain fitting a Garmin on one...). Bars I'm swapping to Sunline V1 711mm

I'm thinking about doing what you did, buying a 214 (I like the colour) and swapping out for most of my existing kit. I was just wondering if you've had any issues with the lower spec shock? Also, is the BB nice and low? (they don't quote any BB heights). Have you found any issues or things you dislike?
Thanks
Paul
Hi Paul, no issues with the shock really. The suspension is very taut anyway, so I'd never want more propedal. The constant 'low' PP might make it a bit stiffer than the one I tested with an RP23 (tested with PP off - was great). Not a big difference though, might even have imagined it tbh.
I just had a look at the MBR grouptest for you - and they quote the Zesty BB as 349mm, while they say the Orange 5 is 342mm for comparison. It certainly never feels precarious to me - just a happy medium between my low Trance and high Handjob.
Only real issue is the press fit BB, doesn't seem to like the wet and seized up quickly - then started spinning freely again after a quick ride. Not confidence inspiring, but a very minor fly in the ointment so far (he says in the dryest summer he can remember).
Can't say enough good things about it otherwise. It's noticeably heavier than both the bikes it replaced - but also noticeably faster in almost any situation. Up, down and along.
Hope that helps.
EDIT: Just remembered, the supplied headset was rubbish too, the crown race was already pitted after a month or so and I've had a Hope one put on instead so I can quickly swap forks if I want to put my 36 on it.
