If so - has the gear shifter lag been sorted?

Keeping an eye on this, forms sound like they're aware of it and trying to remedy it. Not sure if just a software fix will work though, new shifters and software might do it though.

I had an email off the wattbike support saying it had been fixed by software updates - but apparently the reviews from people already with the Atoms is that the shifter lag is still an issue; I have cancelled order and had a refund.

Mine is due somewhere in the first 2 weeks of Jan.
I’m hoping/expecting to use ergo mode more than the gear shift mode. Seems the biggest issues with gear shift/display etc are when used with Zwift.
Tried Zwift & wasn’t that bothered but do get in with Sufferfest, the wife prefers Sufferfest too. So as long as it works ok with that & it’s own native app I’ll be happy.
Saved having a turbo & two bikes in the dining room & me having to swap bikes over every time I want to use the turbo then putting wife’s back on as she can’t donut properly.

Given this must have been known about long before release it makes me wonder if it's even fixable in the software. I can imagine that replicating the feel of a gear change in software is quite tricky, even with an old mag turbo changing the resistance mechanically feels nothing like changing gear. But then I guess they're wattbike and likely figure there's enough of a market of users out there who don't zwift maybe?

I like the look of the TACX bike. Neo based and has normal shifters not due out until 18 so I think I will wait. Lots more turbo bikes coming.

I tried sufferfest ap, trainer road. Zwift did it for me I like the competition and interaction. I bought a bike for my mechanical turbo now doing sterling service on TACX vortex. I to got fed up swapping bikes.

I found sufferfest ap to be inaccurate nowhere near as smooth as Zwift. Trainer road and wattbike very good but crushingly boring. With Zwift I can do a normal turbo session, race, join a group, chase a KoM, events, pros turn up and do sessions or just ride. Its whats kept me coming back for more especially during the winter season. Was tempted to go for a neo this year but may well hold on for the new range of turbo bikes. But it must have a useful shifter action.

I finally settled for an Elite Direto; unit for unit it is a grand less than the Atom, and even when adding an Apple TV 4k, 18" fan, 40" screen there was enough left over to cover next years roadie trip away.

TACX bike sounds great (have a Neo which is awesome). RRP rumoured to be frightening though!

Indeed. You could get a Neo and a cheap turbo mule and still have a grand left over from the reputed RRP.

Btw with things like the Atom how easy is it to change things like crank length? Even if I had a bike with a lot of adjustability that would be the one issue adjusting between mine and Mrs B’s bike.

I think I read that you basically can't. Not sure if that was on DC Rainmaker or somewhere else.
