A German Stevens carbon bike with Shimano Ultegra Di2. Reason it was cheap is the seller reckons the seatpost is stuck in it, haven't tried any real force yet but I'll attend to that soon (any tips, lacquered ally post in carbon frame...bit reluctant to do normal BFI methods I use in old steel frames I'm not too bothered about, worth saving this one if possible).

The main reason I got it was I convinced myself that even though it has a potentially stuck seat post and it's too small for me, I thought the groupset and kit was worth having to stick on another road frame I just got...which hasn't holes for the wiring.

Not had this electrotrickery stuff before on a bike so before I decide to get stuck into it, any top tips...e.g re-routing wiring etc

ps - the frame will be for sale in the ads if the post comes out okay.

That's Ultegra 10 speed Di2, which isn't great. Shimano rendered it all obsolete, there was a huge outcry, so they started making a few bits again, but it's hardly common. Mechs for example are listed on Madison site, but no availability info. They can no longer be used interchangeably with newer 11 speed groupsets either AFAIK - Shimano removed that functionality in a firmware update!

That said... iIt's all e-tube, so wires, junction boxes etc are standard, and you can randomly plug anything into anything and it'll all work.

However... external Di2 routing generally looks shit. Black frames can be just about ok, but you'll need lots of zipties or tape, and you'll have wires trailing everywhere. How do you feel about drilling holes in your frame?

yep thanks, seat post came out relatively easy so not an issue. I think I agree that external cabling will look crap so now all is fine with it, think I'll re-sell and put money towards a nice conventional groupset. It's a really nice quality bike so would be a shame to change it now.
