Theres a santa cruz box at singletrack towers, rumours are that its press embargoed until today.

Might be an ebike

Might be a 5010 with the low shock

Might be something else...

Surprised that SC hasn't jumped on the ebike (e)bandwagon, so I can imagine there's a good chance of it this year. Nomad 4 is 3 years old this year....so hopefully something fresh on the horizon and early enough that prevents people from buying the "old" version...

Santa Cruz have an ebike about to be released imminently. Got a picture of it on my WhatsApp but don't ask me how to post it here.

Bulky downtube battery like most ebikes or more discreet like Focus? Classic SC style?

Upload it to literally any image hosting site (or Pinkbike) and share the link.

It's very discreet. You have to look at the crank area for the motor.

Very poor picture but I think it's a still shot from someone's GoPro.

Wow, yeah that's very discreet.

How long until your pic gets deleted?

That actually looks very nice and very discreet battery, you'd hardly know until you see the crank area. But won't be going down the ebike route just yet. New Nomad please SC !!

Thats just a 5010, not an e-bike. It has a really large bottom bracket area.

I think you're right. Had heard from a SC sponsored rider there was one in development and someone else sent me that picture.

Seem that this weeks "drop" was carbon DH rims for the small wheelers

https://www.pinkbike.com/news/santa-cruz-release-a-275-version-of-its-reserve-dh-rims.html

And the box at STW HQ was Ross's personal Megatower, not a preproduction review bike

https://singletrackmag.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/01/fresh-goods-friday-483-the-countdown-to-daylight-continues/

Santa Cruz keeping it real (for now)

I have a 5010 mk3 and the bb area is different from the one pictured

Are you thick? it's clearly a different shape.

I must be thick (or blind) as they look the same to me?

Care to enlighten me, and Rick, of the (apparently) blaringly obvious differences?

The difference is the taco or chainring on the first pic is making the bb area appear larger and rounder than it actually is.

Interesting. Bronson with fatter down tube was what I heard which would imply the lower shock mount, something which also makes sense as otherwise it would be moving a new bike back to the older shock position.
