Im staying in Newtown for the week due to work so have braught my xc/trail bike hoping to get some nice riding done , so was wondering if anyone on here is local to Newtown and knows if there is an evening riding scene here or know of any route riding from town ?
Have a look at the Hafren forest in Llanidloes for some good trails, Rhayader (Elan Valley) is only half an hour a way and Nant Yr Arian is pretty close as well.

There are bridleways and tracks up onto Llandinam hills (just west of Newtown, up by the big wind farm) but I'm not sure of routes, haven't been up that way for a long time.
Stiperstones & Long Mynd is not too far away - Eastridge woods, plenty of well used routes and bridleways. There's a map of the Long Mynd at https://www.mtb-shropshire.co.uk/trails/ (paper copies available in Church Stretton & elsewhere).
