We are thinking about a trip to north wales but never been before. Would you recommend staying in Dyfi or somewhere nearby? Greatly appreciate any thoughts!
Accommodation type - guesthouse, tent etc ?
we do Premier Inn either in Aberystwyth or Oswestry depending on which is cheaper/easier.
Depends on numbers mate, I can recommend a couple of good AirBnB's.
https://www.thelodgestaylittle.co.uk/ isn't far from Dyfi if the accommodation style suits.
there's the hostel in Corris too, group bookings only by the looks of it.
The Lodge at Staylittle is very comfortable in an outward bound style way.
Phil and Polly the owners are also keen mountain bikers, and there are some routes from their door, as well as enduro riding in nearby(ish) Hafren forest.
In town there's Toad Hall (very basic and esoteric) and the Wynnstay Hotel (not stayed, but am told it's ok).
We stayed in Dolgellau earlier this summer. Plenty of options for food in town. Good central location for all that North Wales activity stuff.
House we stayed in sleep 6 but only had one bathroom. Great for the price though. https://www.originalcottages.co.uk/cottage/oc-14153-drws-y-nant
Many thanks for all the replies! Very helpful. I'll check out each one. I should have said we are looking for a cottage ideally with some space around it that sleeps two.
