My daughter is struggling with grip on her bike, she’s got a new Wild 24 (which is a great Frog/Isla alternative FYI) and I had high hopes for the resin pedals as they appeared to have “pins” molded in. Anyway, they’re crap.
I see DMR do the V6 but they also have plastic pins, do we have an STW preference? She wears running shoes when riding which have fairly smooth soles and she’s 8 so I can’t see me getting her cycling shoes every 3 months when her feet grow.
Any decent kids pedals out there? Metal would be ok, or plastic with pins but I figure she just wants smallish ones.
Have a look at the early rider pedals, £25 for a pair. They have been decent enough on my kids bike
Wellgo kc008 from AliExpress with a little loctite for the pins.
I bought some cheap dmr-V6-a-like pedals from eBay and they have been great for my boy who was also having trouble gripping.
SDG Slater pedals are really good.
Cheers All. Will check them out
My two have had plastic DMRs for ages. No grip issues with 510s or ‘normal’ trainers. And they just seem to last...
Decent pedals and grippy shoes make a big difference to confidence, the kids 5:10's are excellent.
We used the welgos but recently upgraded wee man to CroMag Radars which were spendy but also excellent.
Anything we buy him will pass down to his sister so I dont mind spending a bit on good kit for them.
Hmmm. I didn't rate the v6. It wore to slop pretty quickly when my kids were on them. The replacement nukeproof plastic flat is better and has metal pins. Easier to maintain too.
